Emergency Medical Coverage

Eligibility:

  • - In-Hospital Care: A ward room or semi-private room as required
  • - Medical Services: by licenced physicians
  • - Diagnostic Services: excludes MRI, CAT, ultrasound and biopsies
  • - Prescribed Drugs: $50 per prescription for 30 days
  • - Emergency Dental Services: Maximum coverage of $2,000
  • - Private Nurse: Maximum coverage of $5,000
  • - Health Practitioners: Maximum coverage of $300
  • - Dental: Maximum coverage of $250 (general pain) or coverage of $2,000 (accidental injury)
  • - Remote Evacuation: Maximum coverage of $20,000
  • - Repatriation: Expense of transport to home by an air ambulance is covered
  • - Return of Family Member: Maximum coverage of $1,000 for one-way air transport
  • - Family/Friend to Bedside: Maximum coverage of $3,000 (round trip air-fare) plus $150-$750 per day (expense incurred by the member while the policy holder is hospitalized)

Single Trip Plan

Under this plan the policy holder is insured for one trip within a specified date of travel, with a maximum coverage of $5,000,000. A Single-Trip Plan covers trips up to 183 days long and offers you to choose from $0, $250, $1,000, $5,000 deductible

Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance

Benefits:

  • - $50,000 for an injury that results into death
  • - $25,000 for an injury that causes blindness (complete/partial) to one eye
  • - If the policy holder meets more than one accidents, the claim is applicable for the one which entitles you to the largest benefit amount

Multi-Trip Annual Plan

This plan is best suited to the frequent travellers as the plan provides coverage for an unlimited number of trips during the year for which policy has been taken. The trips planned under this policy could be for 15 days or less OR 30 days or less, if the days get extended the single trip plan can be used for those extended days on a daily basis.

How to Make Claim:

  • - Claim form must be submitted within 90 days of injury
  • - Original receipts, bill and invoices
  • - Medical records by the attending physician
  • - Proof of travel as in ticket and passport copy to provide date of departure from your residential province Historical medical records (if any)

Refund Policy:

  • - 100% refund, if the policy is terminated before the effective date
  • - Partial refund, if no claim has been made under the policy
  • - Partial refund is made if a proof is submitted that says that the policy holder returned early
  • - Partial payment is made when the amount to be refunded exceeds $5

  • - Trip must originate and terminate in Canada
  • - You must spend 50% or more time in Canada during the entire trip

  • - Multiple Entry: From the effective date, the policy holder can make any number of departure and re-entries into Canada
  • - Stability: Medical condition of the policy holder are considered to be stable form the effective date of the policy and not from the date when the subsequent re-entries have been made into Canada

How to Make Claim:

  • - Claim form must be submitted within 90 days of injury
  • - Original receipts, bill and invoices
  • - Medical records by the attending physician
  • - Historical medical records (if any)
  • - The post-mortem report, in case of death

Refund Policy:

  • - 100% refund, if the policy is terminated before the effective date or after the effective date (provided GMS is notified before passing 30 days from this date)
  • - Partial refund, if the claim has been received after 30 days from the effective date
  • - Partial refund is made when a minimum of 30 days remain unused
  • - Partial payment is made in an event of death during the policy and the unused days left are 30
